Harbison EA going to vote! Is this pay offer good enough?
-
Published May 28, 2021
After many months of negotiations, Harbison are finally taking a new enterprise agreement out to vote.
Unfortunately, Harbison are offering one of the lowest wage increases in the sector – effectively just 4% over three years – and they have failed to address many of the key items that HSU member raised.
While Harbison are talking up the benefits of a ‘bonus’ being paid back to 1 July 2020, this is really just the same increase that most other providers already paid their staff last year. Plus, there is effectively no wage increase in July this year, so staff will then have to wait until July 2022 to get the second and final 2% pay increase.
The HSU will be conducting workplace visits next week to discuss the offer with staff. We will also be holding a special information session for members on Wednesday evening 2 June at 5pm – location to be confirmed next week.
We will be sending out more information about the offer next week.
If you have any questions about what is proposed, please come along to our workplace visit or to our special information session.
If your colleagues are not yet HSU members, encourage them to join online at www.hsu.asn.au/join to stay up to date as things develop.
We hope to see you on Wednesday evening 2 June at 5pm. We will send out details on the venue shortly.
