HSU is conducting a meeting for all staff working at FASS this Wednesday at 12:30pm on Zoom. The meeting is to update members, and decide on next steps about two issues: 

Hospital Scientist Award variation application 
All Hospital Scientist HSU members must attend for an important update on the impact of NSW HP application vary the Hospital Scientists Awards on your career and conditions. The application proposes to classify FASS as a ‘moderate complexity’ laboratory which will result in impacts to the number of available positions for progression of Hospital Scientists. HSU opposes this part of the application and its detrimental outcome. 

Security arrangements at FASS 
FASS has notified HSU of changes to the security arrangement at the site arising out of a review the NSW Police Force conduct. This review has led to the withdrawal of Special Constables providing security to the site. Until September 30, contract security will provide a presence on site but consultation is now occurring as to what the security arrangement will be beyond this.
