COLOURED HAIR DAY – Medowie action to commence!

NSWA recently reprimanded a member for having sprayed red-coloured hair, claiming they were enforcing their uniform policy.

In an amazing show of support for their colleague, members from Medowie Station are all going to turn up for shift tomorrow with coloured hair. It will be up to NSWA whether they want to enforce a policy that contains outdated elements and take action against all of these members.

The campaign is growing! ADHSU members have now caught the media’s attention.

Members in Hunter Zone 1 (Inner Hunter) have expressed their wish to join the action in solidarity. Well done to these members! If you are a member in the Inner Hunter on shift tomorrow (24 hours), see how you can participate below.

HSU Secretary Gerard Hayes is committed to standing alongside members in this action. He has pledged to colour his hair blue and white – proper HSU colours!

Members in Hunter 1 are participating in this action to raise their voices against the arbitrary and punitive application of an outdated policy. Tomorrow, you can participate by spraying your hair a different colour. If that doesn’t suit you or you don’t have hair to spray, join in by breaching the uniform policy in a creative way (e.g. crazy socks, yellow ADHSU badges).

Members in areas outside of Hunter 1 should not participate unless the whole station joins in – this is to ensure individual members can’t be targeted. Depending on how NSWA responds to tomorrow’s action, this protest may become statewide.
