CCLHD: Pharmacy Dispute Update
-
Published November 10, 2022
Following recent HSU meetings held in Wyong and Gosford Pharmacies, the LHD has scheduled the next disputes meeting for Monday 21 November at 11:30am.
Any members who wish to be involved in these discussions should contact your HSU Organiser via email [E-Mail not displayed]. Further members meetings will be convened after the disputes meeting to update you on the outcome.
It is concerning to hear reports there is still a large amount of unpaid work being performed, with staff missing meal breaks and staying back after hours to complete work without claiming overtime. While this continues, it sends the message to management they can continue to cut staff knowing that the work will get done for free. The message is simple: if you work it, claim it. If you are knocked back for overtime, contact the union.
HSU members are compassionate, hard-working, and driven by a duty of care to patients. However, this should never be used to justify attacks on your working conditions. If management really cared, they would not be cutting staffing numbers.
By standing up together, we can show management that we won’t accept these cuts.
Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
