Whiddon Carers Roster Change at Easton Park: Know Your Rights
-
Published November 10, 2022
Health Services Union members met with Whiddon Easton Park Management yesterday to discuss the proposed carers roster change and the impact on HSU members.
Whiddon are proposing significant changes that could have a serious effect on members, including proposals to changes to shift times, shift patterns, and potentially changes to contracted hours.
Following our meeting yesterday, the proposed commencement date of the new roster has now been extended for an unknown period of time.
The proposed roster is still part of consultation with the union. Whiddon has advised that until employees are happy, management will not start the new roster.
It’s important that you know your rights during this consultation period:
- Whiddon must consult with all affected staff members. That means:
Whiddon must provide, in writing, all relevant information about the change.
Whiddon must invite you to give your views about the proposed change.
Whiddon must consider any views about the impact of the change. - HSU members have the right to be represented by the union. If your colleagues are not yet HSU members, encourage them to join the union so that they are represented.
- Don’t sign anything you are not happy with! All HSU members are encouraged to seek advice before signing or agreeing to any changes.
If you have any questions or issues, reach out to your HSU organiser Anita Bhattarai Pangeni on 0455 995 966 or email [E-Mail not displayed]. Alternatively, you can contact the HSU office on 1300 478 679.
Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
