Canberra Imaging Group: Your Agreement is Going to Vote!

Published October 1, 2021
Following discussions with Canberra Imaging Group management, CIG have now entered the access period for the new Enterprise Agreement.
The decision to proceed into the access period was poorly explained to the HSU and other bargaining representatives but they have proceeded despite this. In case members were not aware, the access period is a 7-day period required under the Fair Work Act during which your employer must give access to the proposed EA and make reasonable efforts to explain the proposal to staff. You can find a staff memo provided to the HSU at this link.
At the conclusion of the access period the EA will be put to a vote when you get to have your say!
The new EA would be a four-year long agreement which would commence from the date of the commission’s approval.
CIG are offering wage increases of 2.25% backdated to 1 July 2021, 2.25% on 1 July 2022, 2.25% on 1 July 2023, and 2.5% on 1 July 2024.
In addition to the above wage increases, there was an additional uplift provided directly to the sonographer classifications of 7.5%.
You can find a copy of your proposed enterprise agreement at this link. We encourage everyone to read the proposal carefully as there are further changes, and have a say when the ballot opens.
If a majority vote ‘yes’ to accept the offer, the agreement will be sent to the Fair Work Commission for approval. If a majority vote ‘no’ the HSU will hold further discussions about the agreement.
If any HSU members have any questions about the enterprise agreement, please contact Industrial Officer Andrew Gallagher at [E-Mail not displayed] with the title CIG Bargaining.
If your colleagues are not yet HSU members, encourage them to join the union today. New members can join online at www.hsu.asn.au/join or by calling the union on 1300 478 679.
Voting is scheduled from Thursday 7 October to Friday 8 October. Make sure you have your say!
