Bruce Sharpe Lodge Rapid Antigen Testing

At the last site visit on 22 June, members at Bruce Sharpe Lodge raised their concern around mandatory Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) that is required to be done before work.

Your HSU Organiser Hyojung Kim wrote to local management and asked for clarification of the managerial direction. She has obtained the following confirmation in writing from your manager:

  • Staff can come on time and take the mandatory RAT in their ordinary work hours
  • Staff clocking on 15 minutes late due to this mandatory RAT will still “be paid as per rostered hours”

Now, you can come to work on time and take the test at the commencement of your shift and then enter the building to clock on. Please be aware that if the business requires a mandatory test prior to the commencement of the shift, the time in which it takes to conduct the test and wait for the result shall be paid time. This is regardless of whether they undertake the test at the facility prior to the commencement of a shift or at home.

Changes like this can only be brought about by members voicing concerns when something wasn’t right or clear. If you have a colleague who is not a member yet, encourage them to join online at www.hsu.asn.au/join or by calling 1300 478 679. We are always stronger when we stand together.
