Health workers in Western Sydney hospitals are calling on MPs to stop the takeover of our jobs by HealthShare.
HealthShare is the corporate arm of NSW Health and has a history of cutting public services.
We are hospital cleaners, wardspersons and stores assistants. Without us, infection runs rampant and the hospital grinds to a halt.
HealthShare management say they can run the service for less, but they can't say how they will do it without cutting staff, increasing workloads and harming patient care for the Western Sydney community.
We need MPs to intervene and keep these services under local hospital management.
Our hospitals rely on support services to keep running.
If we don't have enough cleaners, infections in the hospital increase.
If we don't have enough storepersons, the hospital runs out of medical supplies.
If we don't have enough wardspersons, patients can't move around the hospital.
Staffing levels are already dangerously low in Western Sydney. Allowing HealthShare to take over these jobs will only make things worse for our community.
When we stand together, our voices can’t be ignored. Join today and stand with over 50,000 workers in health, ambulance, aged care, disability care, and private health!
