WSLHD: Proposed relocation of Bunya Forensic Unit to Blacktown Hospital
-
Published May 14, 2024
The HSU has received correspondence from Western Sydney Local Health District about the relocation of the Bunya Forensic Unit from Cumberland Hospital to the new Blacktown Mental Health Recovery Centre.
WSLHD has advised that general services roles were classified as Patient Services Assistants (PSAs) at Bunya in recognition of the scope of tasks performed, but the new Forensic Units will be employing Hospital Assistants Grade 2 (Cleaners). They say this is because HealthShare will be providing Food Services and other tasks at Blacktown.
WSLHD says that no one will lose their jobs as a result of this change, but instead will be given the opportunity to remain at Cumberland as a PSA, appointed to a vacant PSA position at another WSLHD facility, or transition to the new Blacktown facility as an HAG2. Members will be given the chance to express their preference.
