The HSU has received correspondence from Western NSW Local Health District about a proposed realignment of the Health Information, Communication, and Technology (Health ICT) department.
Following a review in 2021 conducted by external consultants KPMG and an internal review in 2023, WNSWLHD wants to make the following changes:
- Realign ICT functional working groups into three core groupings: 1. Digital Health governance, strategic planning, business management and project management; 2. Clinical engagement, Health Information, and privacy; 3. Operational support services.
- Changes to job roles, including changes to role requirements for some staff and changes in reporting lines
- Updated or additional tools
- Changes to service delivery including increased collaboration with clinical, corporate and support staff
