WHS issues at Laverty and 4Cyte

Your HSU organiser Johann Hariman has recently undertaken a series of site visits examining WHS issues for members. Unfortunately, he has discovered some unsafe conditions, including mould spores in poorly ventilated rooms, inadequate supplies, unsafe ceilings, ineffective air conditioning, and broken or inadequate toilet facilities.
The Union has raised these matters with Laverty and 4Cyte and if they are not corrected, we will take further action under the Work Health and Safety Act. Our power under the Act is a great example of how we can improve conditions by working together. Why not ask a colleague to join around fixing safety issues in your workplace?
We want to get it right and get as many things fixed as possible with this action. If you know of any similar hazards or risks to your health and safety, please reach out to your HSU organiser Johann at 0408 904 886 so that we can raise any WHS issues with management in the first instance.
If you would like to discuss the above in more detail or have any questions, please send an email to [E-Mail not displayed] and we will be in touch. Know someone who isn’t yet a member of the HSU? They can join online at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
