Westmead: night shift stung by parking fines
-
Published August 15, 2022
The HSU has received information that some staff working on night shift have been given penalty notices for parking by Westmead Hospital.
It appears that members were not told about the changes to night shift parking arrangements before the penalty notices were issued. Members have been permitted to park in the spaces for at least two years.
The Union is taking this very seriously. Members who have worked tirelessly overnight through the pandemic, keeping the hospital running, have now been given fines of over $80 just for turning up to work.
To identify the scope of the issue, if you have received a parking fine on night shift in the past few weeks, please write to your HSU Organiser Josh Dodsworth via email [E-Mail not displayed] and include a picture of the penalty notice.
