Westmead Kids: Admin officers workloads increase but no relief for staff
-
Published September 27, 2021
Even prior to the current COVID outbreak, Admin staff have been raising concerns about their workloads increasing with no relief in sight as work continued to build up.
Members are reporting they are not able to get leave approved due to no relief staff or there is no relief to cover short absence such as sick leave or staff required to isolate due to COVID exposure.
With the current outbreak only serving to exacerbate the issue, it’s now time to come together and say enough is enough. We need a dedicated group of Admin staff to provide relief throughout the campus.
Every admin officer is invited to attend a meeting via zoom to discuss the matter:
When: Wednesday 29th September
Time: 12-1pm
Zoom Link: https://zoom.us/j/96329594703
As part of this meeting, we will be discussing with members and plan to campaign for:
- Permanent relief staff to cover all leave and long-term absences,
- Fill all existing Admin Officer vacant roles,
- A complete review of Admin Officer workloads and staffing levels.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your workplace delegates or HSU organiser – [E-Mail not displayed] or 0425 181 361.
All Admin Officers are encouraged to attend. If any of your admin colleagues are not currently members, invite them along and encourage them to join the Union as together our voice our louder, either via www.hsu.asn.au/join or 1300 478 679.
In unity,
Gerard Hayes
Secretary, HSU NSW/ACT/QLD
