Westmead HealthShare Update
-
Published October 29, 2024
On Friday 25 October, following a meeting between HSU delegates and HealthShare management, members of the HSU in the cleaning department at Westmead Hospital passed resolutions to suspend work bans based on agreement with HealthShare on the following matters:
- Known vacancies will be covered by casuals, contractors, or overtime.
- There will be a review of recruitment processes in order to identify opportunities to speed up the processes.
- A working group will be established next week, to seek to find an agreed position on locations of work within the hospitals.
From last Friday HSU members should not be covering up additional cleaning work in other areas without the option of overtime. If you are pressured to complete additional work within your 8-hour shift without the option of overtime, you must notify one of your HSU delegates, as this against what has been agreed to by HealthShare.
