Vote NO to the proposed Lifehouse EA Variation

Employees at Chris O’Brien’s Lifehouse (COBLH) are being asked to vote on a proposed variation to your Enterprise Agreement which will see your wage increase slashed from the 2.5% owing to 1.04%.
COBLH claim this is because they cannot afford to pay the full 2.5% and are therefore asking that workers bear the financial burden on their behalf.
The HSU is proposing that all employees VOTE NO to the proposed variation. You can do so by going to www.myvote.com.au/lifehouse, selecting your classification and then voting NO.
Workers at COBLH deserve better than two pay cuts in a row. If a majority of employees who vote choose to vote No, then the Enterprise Agreement rates will not change, and you will be paid your 2.5%. Management should look for other ways to make up for their lost income and not look to cut employees’ wages as a first option.
HSU members have worked tirelessly over the last 12 months in order to ensure that COBLH provides comprehensive and quality care. It is time that you get the pay increase that you deserve – and that COBLH agreed to when they negotiated your Enterprise Agreement.
