You may have seen the news regarding increased COVID-19 restrictions in the Greater Sydney, Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour regions.

These measures have been introduced in response to increased transmissions from the Eastern Suburbs cluster in Sydney.

The number of community transmissions is concerning, and the HSU supports these measures in order to reduce the risk to the community.

However, I want to reassure you that your Union remains here for you. As health, aged care and disability workers, the work that you do is vital – but it’s also vital that your own rights and safety continue to be respected.

It’s very unfortunate that this situation has arisen, but we have been here before. We can overcome this. With the caring and fortitude that HSU members have shown previously, I know the community is in good hands.
