Unfortunately, we find ourselves once more in a difficult situation.

Members will be aware that COVID-19 case numbers have climbed to disturbing levels within NSW, with hospitalisations also on the increase. There can be no doubt that this virus – and particularly the Delta variant – is exceptionally dangerous.

I understand that many of you may be feeling anxious or overwhelmed. I want to assure that your Union is strong and continues to work hard for members, despite the current uptick in COVID-19 infections.

The HSU has been involved in talks with Greg Hunt, the Federal Health Minister, to expedite the vaccine rollout and ensure that members aren’t adversely impacted. I will never miss an opportunity to intercede on members’ behalf.
