Following advice from members, your HSU Organiser last year approached management and argued that Lab Aides working for Southern IML were being underpaid.

Southern IML management agreed to conduct a review of Lab Assistant pay grades and have now agreed to regrade 12 Lab Assistants from level ONE to level TWO effective from 16 January 2021. 

The pay rate for a Level Two Lab Assistant is $21.96 for permanent staff and $27.45 for casuals.

If you are still a grade ONE Lab Assistant, please contact the union.
