SWSLHD: Proposed temporary shift changes, Bankstown Hospital CSSD

South Western Sydney Local Health District has advised the HSU of proposed temporary shift changes to the Central Sterilising Supply Department (CSSD) at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital.

The CSSD at Bankstown Hospital will be upgraded to meet standard AS5369-2023. During the period of refurbishment, upgrade, and closure (estimated to be between November and February) the CSSD department will be relocated to a mobile unit on hospital grounds.

Current shift pattern

Current operational hours are 0700 to 2300 (Monday to Sunday, incl Public Holidays)

  • 0700 - 1530 hrs
  • 1000 - 1830 hrs
  • 1330 - 2200 hrs
  • 1430 - 2300 hrs

Weekends and Public Holidays

  • 0830 - 1700 hrs         

Proposed shift pattern

Refurbishment – temporary shifts

Operational hours from 0600 to 0000 Midnight (Monday to Friday)

  • 0600 -1430 hrs
  • 0700 -1530 hrs
  • 0900 - 1730 hrs
  • 1030 - 1900 hrs
  • 1430 - 2300 hrs
  • 1530 - 2400 hrs Midnight

Weekends and Public Holidays

  • 0800 - 2000 hrs
