Yesterday two of your Health Services Union delegates Sue and Katrina, accompanied by your HSU organiser, Bec Luxton, Industrial Officers James Barrow and Andrew Gallagher (Your HSU Bargaining Team) attended bargaining with SNP. Your last Agreement was established back in 2009 and the Union is very aware that the workplace environment has changed, and bargaining is well overdue.

The meeting had some severe technical issues, and the meeting had to be adjourned so good faith bargaining could take place.

Instead of a formal bargaining meeting, your HSU Bargaining Team were able to meet with other bargaining representatives and talk about how we can work together to ensure the best outcome for all SNP workers.

This is what our Delegate Katrina had to say:

“It was great to see so many SNP colleagues in the room and on Zoom committed to change and updating the old workplace agreement. I am really excited to be a part of this enterprise bargaining process, I have never done anything like this before. I thought that I was just one person and one person can't really make a difference, but I realised that we are all there for a common goal.... making our workplaces better! I could see that the HSU team are very experienced in negotiations, and it boosted my confidence. I hope for a very positive outcome.”

The next bargaining meeting will take place on Monday 15th November 2021, at 6:30pm. The HSU will be holding reoccurring Zoom meetings for SNP members every Monday, 6:30pm QLD time. Over the coming weeks we will be out talking with members about the changes you want to see in your new Agreement.
