Dear Member,

Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) have advised the HSU about a proposed regrading of the genetic counsellor level 1/2 position to a genetic counsellor level 3 position within the Child Infant Family Tertiary Service Team at Southern NSW Local Health District.

According to SNSWLHD the intention of the proposal is to create a career progression for genetic counsellors within SNSWLHD, while providing support and supervision mechanism for genetic counsellors in the level 1-2 positions. The LHD claims it would also recognise the complexity of the genetic counselling caseload.
