SNSWLHD Operations and Integrated Care Allied Health cuts – Update

Dear Member,

As you will be aware, SNSWLHD notified the HSU it intends to make catastrophic cuts to Allied Health and Administration staffing across the district, earlier this month.

Following on from the HSU’s previous newsletter regarding the cuts, members have continued to provide feedback on the proposed changes.

Overwhelmingly, members have said one thing: the district cannot sustain more cuts to budgets or staffing!

Staff already perform work beyond their hours every day to keep services running and workers are at a breaking point and believe any further jobs cuts would have vast repercussions for staff wellbeing, safety and morale and a knock-on effect on the wider community.

The workers and communities within SNSWLHD deserve better than this from a government that promised no cuts!

What’s next?

HSU members met with the district on November 6 and 13 to provide this feedback and the district has agreed to consider alternative, cost-neutral, proposals and an extension of the timeframe to ensure member voices are heard.

This is positive news – but the fight is far from over! Workers only have the power to push back on management when we’re working collectively, together. If you know someone who isn’t a union member, now’s the time to talk to them about joining.

We are only stronger together!

Affected HSU members will continue to receive updates on this issue as negotiations proceed. Please contact HSU organiser [E-Mail not displayed] for more details.

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
