Your Sullivan Nicolaides Delegates sat at the bargaining table at the end of last week to address the outstanding issues in relation to the log of claims.

As we get to the pointy end of bargaining, frustration is running high as SNP reject so many of members’ claims. Your HSU delegates are pushing hard to get the message through to SNP just how tough it is for you and your colleagues to make ends meet on the current wage, and how important it is to improve your daily working conditions.

SNP say they have carefully considered the feedback given by bargaining reps and whether an increase to the initial offer can be made. Their excuses for undervaluing their staff? ‘An unstable economic environment’ and ‘protecting the viability of the business’. Meanwhile, as you know, they’re making massive profits from frontline staff.

The agenda for the next meeting (potentially final) is to finalise the wording of the clauses. We anticipate that SNP will put their CWA 4 proposal out for a vote. We cannot emphasise enough how important it is to VOTE NO to this substandard proposal – not only is it an unacceptable wage offer, but management have also rejected so many reasonable HSU claims. We need to VOTE NO and force them back to the bargaining table.
