RNSH Social Work Department Weekend Service Union Consultation
-
Published June 17, 2021
As the trial of the RNSH weekend on site social work service is due to end, consultation is required between management, HR and the HSU to discuss the proposal. HSU Members’ participation is key to this process, with a view to achieving successful outcomes.
Members’ contributions to the consultation process are extremely valuable. It means that that they can have a direct and active role in shaping and improving service delivery. Any potential impacts on workloads and staffing levels can be addressed. You can have a direct say in how the service can be best delivered. A meeting to discuss your views has been scheduled next week.
Additionally, your longstanding Award entitlement to breaks after call outs and overtime payments has been flagged to you recently. The Union can submit overtime claims on behalf of HSU members, who returned to duty without the required 8 hour break, after the completion of a call out on the crisis roster. If this affects you or colleagues, you can discuss submitting your claim in accordance with your Award entitlement at the meeting.
Feedback and overtime claims can also be emailed to Denise O’Shaughnessy at [E-Mail not displayed].
Please advise your colleagues (non members included) that they can meet with the HSU Industrial Organiser to discuss these matters next Tuesday. The room is booked for an extended period to accommodate varying lunch breaks. Attendance at 12.00pm is encouraged.
