RATs at Hugh Cunningham Gardens

Recently, the Health Services Union was informed by members that employees were being required to take Rapid Antigen Tests before their shift hours and weren’t being paid for their time.
Your local HSU Organiser Renee Sheridan has contacted RSL LifeCare and has received confirmation in writing as below:
“I can confirm that where it is necessary for staff to have a RAT under Health Department advice, they will be paid an additional 15 mins”.
Communication was emailed to staff on Monday 14 March 2022 from RSL LifeCare, explaining the process for claiming your testing time prior to the commencement of your shift/s:
“Staff at Hugh Cunningham Gardens who have not been paid this period for any shifts between 02/02/2022 & 13/03/2022 will be required to submit a Payroll Enquiry Form”.
This is a small but meaningful win – together union members have ensured the rights of all workers at Hugh Cunningham Gardens. If you know someone who isn’t yet part of the HSU, let them know what it means to be a union member at RSL LifeCare.
