Proposed changes to reporting lines, RNSH Nuclear Medicine

Published January 13, 2023
The District has advised the HSU that they are seeking to change the reporting lines within the Nuclear Medicine Department at RNSH.
The details of the proposed changes were provided in an email as follows:
“Currently the Physicists, Radiopharmacists and the Radiopharmacy Registrar report directly to the Department Head who is a medical specialist. Of the Physicists, one is graded as the Principal Physicist; and of the Radiopharmacists, one is graded as the Principal Radiopharmacist.
To provide greater oversight and support to the scientists, it is proposed that the professional and operational reporting lines would be more appropriate with the direct line management for the Physicist to change to the Principal Physicist, and the reporting line for the Radiopharmacist and the Registrar to change to the Principal Radiopharmacist. Both of the Principal positions would remain reporting to the Head of Department (as per current). This would allow the two Principal positions to have greater oversight of their respective sections as these roles are currently responsible for the other staff i.e. education and training. This has been discussed with the staff who are supportive of the new reporting lines.
In practice, it is simply a change on the PD to amend the reporting line from Head of Department to the relevant Principal Physicist/Radiopharmacist.”
Please contact your Organiser via email with any feedback or concerns you may have regarding these changes. Feedback is to be sent to [E-Mail not displayed] by 19 January 2023.
