On Monday 18 December, HSU Peer Workers held a mass meeting to discuss the current state of consultation for a Framework for the employment of Peer Workers.

The collective message is clear – the current offer from the Ministry for only 1 HSU Peer Worker to sit on the Expert Reference Group designing the Framework is grossly inadequate!

HSU Peer Workers are tired of tokenistic consultation and decisions being made about us, not by us.

HSU members unanimously endorsed a petition for all Peer Workers to sign which sends the above message loud and clear to the Ministry of Health and Minister for Mental Health, Rose Jackson.
