Pay freeze/professional wages: endorsed industrial action commencing immediately
-
Published June 25, 2021
The below industrial action was endorsed by this morning’s stop work meeting. Please note while the action is in defiance of orders ADHSU will back members in while taking this action.
Members also endorsed a slight change in our claim. It is now:
- 2.2 for last year (not yet achieved).
- 2.5 for this year (achieved).
- Full salary packaging benefits flow to members (not yet achieved).
- Independent review into PROQA (not yet achieved).
- A solid roadmap to professional wages, and how they will be funded by government (new claim).
The stop work meeting also voted to take another day of action (on the 30th) which includes banning all jobs below a 2I. However, that action will not go ahead if the Treasurer/Health Minister agrees to a meeting to discuss professional wages, and funding for them. We will let members know if such a meeting is agreed to; however, members should assume the day of action will go ahead.
Industrial action from now until 1 July
- No eMRs – Paramedics will only complete PHCR’s and not include case numbers or debtor details. Only include Patient’s name and DOB. Aeromedical: Electronic AirMaestro Paramedic Mission Debrief Forms (PMDF) – Green and pink copies not to be handed in at station unless there is medication administration or interventions – hand in grey patient copy to hospital. (Sample industrial action PHCR here)
- No shift movements in Metro Sydney (fluid deployment as a double crew excepted).
- No shift movements in Regional, except where the Service can demonstrate they have exhausted staff availability from MyShift (ADHSU members encouraged to put their name down for OT).
- No P5s – patients are to be transported to hospital.
- No R7s – no discharges or “hot swaps” (unless it suits staff for fatigue management).
- No non-urgent / routine transfers between facilities (that is, cases that would normally be done by PTS / HealthShare).
- No single responses (designated single operators excluded as per current IRC recommendation).
Plus: On 30 June – Day of Action: only 1A, B, C and 2Is (this will be lifted with confirmed meeting with Treasurer / Health Minister on the subject of Professional Wages).
All action ceases on the morning of 1st July (at the completion of the previous evening’s night shifts).
Keep up the good fight.
