There are only 270 days between now and the next state election, which means our public campaign for bi-partisan support for paramedic professional recognition is finally at the home straight.

For several years ADHSU paramedics have been visiting local politicians, in rural and regional electorates, as well as metro. There have now been a series of meetings between the Premier, Health Minister, and ADHSU delegates – all positive but non-committal. They all want us to prove what we already know: paramedics already deserve professional recognition for what they are doing now, let alone what could be done with actual recognition in the future.

It’s time to get the public behind us so both the government and opposition know that there will be a political benefit, or cost, depending on where they sit on paramedic professional recognition.
