One step closer at Garden Village

Recently HSU members and the local community stood together on Hastings River Road to highlight the unreasonable delays in receiving a wage offer from Garden Village management. Motorists driving by honked in support of Garden Village staff and we also received widespread support on social media.

Garden Village have since resumed meeting with bargaining representatives and it is anticipated that the union will soon have a wage offer. Well done members on taking a stand!

In addition, Garden Village management have now written a submission to the Fair Work Commission supporting the HSU Work Value Case, specifically with our claim that all aged care workers should be covered by any pay rise arising from the union’s case. While it’s a little later than other aged care providers, it’s very welcome that Garden Village is now formally supporting the HSU case. The submission can be viewed here.

Make sure your colleagues are part of the team campaigning for better wages in aged care. New members can join at www.hsu.asn.au/join or by calling 1300 478 679.

We’ll keep all HSU members updated as the negotiations progress.
