On Call Allowance – Are you being paid properly?

Is your time valuable?
Members at Uniting Taralga have identified that the on-call allowance, payable to members who are not relieved to take their unpaid meal breaks (while working on afternoon and night shifts) has not been correctly paid.
This matter was resolved in late 2022 and members were awarded backpay. However it seems this allowance has again been removed.
Workers should be paid for all time worked, including meal breaks, when the expectation is for them to remain on site and available for duty.
Members are asked to check their pay slips to ensure they are being paid for their entire afternoon and nights shifts i.e., 1400 – 2230 is paid at 8.5hrs.
If you believe you have been underpaid, please contact Josie Peacock at [E-Mail not displayed] and attach a copy of your payslip.
