Nepean Medical Imaging Department ‘on call’ agreement

Dear Member,

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District has written to the HSU seeking feedback on a proposed change to the rostering of A2 on call shift for radiographers in Angiography in the Medical Imaging Department.

The district’s correspondence states that the A2 on-call shift (1800-0800 overnight) ensures radiographers who are training in Angiography obtain experience in all procedures, including those performed overnight.

The district proposes to only use the A2 on-call shift when needed for training purposes.

The district proposes to add one more radiographer to the A1 on-call which they claim will reduce the need for staff to perform on-call shifts more than once or twice per month.
