Nambucca Valley Care on notice after denying HSU entry

Following management’s unlawful denial of entry to HSU officials who were on site to speak to union members and investigate allegations of bullying and adverse action, the HSU has now escalated the matter directly to the Nambucca Valley Care CEO, demanding he take immediate action and intervene.

Last month, accredited HSU officials were denied entry to the site as they sought to perform an important Work Health and Safety Inspection on behalf of union members. This came after HSU members repeatedly raised allegations of bullying, harassment, and intimidation by NVC management.

The HSU takes the unlawful denial of entry very seriously. These issues need to be rectified immediately.

The HSU has now written to Nambucca Valley Care Group about this serious breach, as well as other concerns around health and safety. The Union has requested immediate action to remedy these very serious issues.

Management have been given a deadline of Friday, 8 March to respond.

In the meantime, all HSU members are encouraged to join an important union meeting this Thursday at 6pm in the CWA Hall (31 Princess St Macksville) to discuss this issue and to agree on important next steps together.

If you have been a victim of bullying, action against you because of your union membership, or have witnessed such action against a coworker, contact your HSU organiser [E-Mail not displayed].
