The HSU has received correspondence from Hunter New England LHD, proposing to remove the security position at Morisset Hospital. 

While there will be an increase in HSA hours in Kestral, overall this proposal would lead to a reduction in staff of 5 hours for weekday shifts and 17 hours for weekend shifts. 

This is despite several recent incidents which have threatened the safety of staff at Morisset Hospital. 

This decision from the employer is an absolute affront to the safety of health workers.

The Morisset HSU Sub Branch has called for an emergency meeting at 11am tomorrow to determine an appropriate response.

All members are strongly encouraged to attend.
