MNCLHD: Legionella Identification Camden Haven Health One

Mid North Coast Local Health District has advised the HSU that a legionella bacterium has been identified in warm water testing at Camden Haven Health One – 66 Norman St, Laurieton.
MNCLHD advises the bacteria that has been identified is Legionella pneumophila. They say the risk is very small, but it is possible this type of Legionella may cause illness. The usual incubation period is between 2 to 14 days and the symptoms may include cough, fever, shortness of breath, lethargy, generalised aches, pains and headaches.
