Manning Base Radiographers call out unsafe staffing levels

HSU Radiographers at Manning Base Hospital have called out inadequate staffing levels in their department, writing a comprehensive letter to HNELHD to express their concerns about increasing workloads.

Members have pointed out the risk to their safety as well as patients’ wellbeing. Unmanageable workloads have been compounded by the fact an additional CT scanner is due to come online next week, but there have been no discussions about a corresponding increase in staff.

HNELHD has been put on notice to respond to members’ concerns by COB Friday 31 May.

In the meantime, members are encouraged to prioritise your own safety, take your breaks and follow WHS polices including manual handling.

If you have any concerns or questions, please contact your organiser Matt Ramsay on 0419 553 105.
