COME TO THE RALLY: WEDNESDAY, 28 AUGUST at 1300. OUTSIDE MANNING BASE HOSPITAL (High St, Taree)
Dear Member,
HSU members have loudly told HealthShare “hands off our café” at Manning Base. But this week is the time to show them, in person!
Manning Base’s HSU sub-branch has endorsed holding a rally this week, demanding HealthShare reverse its decision to close four hospital retail outlets, including the Manning Base café.
Everyone should come to this important rally outside the hospital on Wednesday, 28 August – it is time to make HealthShare understand the gravity of the situation and the effect closing the café will have on both workers and the wider community.
HealthShare made the snap decision with no community consultation. Already more than 4000 people, including HSU members, non-members and local residents have signed a petition calling on the company to reverse the unpopular decision.
HealthShare executives met with workers directly employed in the café, after HSU members called on management to meet with them, but it’s important HealthShare hears from everyone.
Come to the rally this week and tell HealthShare “hands off our café!”.
When: Wednesday, 28 August at 1300
Where: Outside, Manning Base Hospital (High St, Taree)
Rally to go for 20-30 minutes
And remember, there’s still time to sign the petition!
