JHH: New Shifts in Radiology
-
Published December 18, 2020
The HSU has written to the employer regarding members’ issues with the implementation of new shifts in the Radiology Department at the John Hunter for CT and Ultrasound.
The major concern outlined by the Union in relation to these new shifts was whether a radiology nurse would also be rostered to support the on-duty radiographer. The HSU is further concerned that the introduction of this shift will affect workflow and lead to work health safety issues. Consequently, the HSU has requested that the shift be reviewed in February next year.
During the consultation process a number of unrelated issues relating to workload have also been identified. The HSU is committed to addressing these issues in the new year and will liaise with affected workers to this effect.
Members will be updated once the Union has received a response from the employer.
Please contact HSU Organiser Patrick Craven [E-Mail not displayed] if you have any issues regarding the consultation process.
A union’s effectiveness and negotiation power depends upon the strength and density of its membership base. Join your work colleagues today by becoming a member of the Health Services Union and help us continue to protect and improve your working life.
