ISLHD: Proposed HASA roster changes, Milton-Ulladulla Hospital

Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District has advised the HSU that Milton-Ulladulla Hospital is proposing to trial changed rosters, specifically from 8-hour to 12-hour shifts for the Health and Security Assistant (HASA) staff.

According to the District, the reasons for the proposed roster changes are:

  • Following a review into the current services provided by the HASA team, a mutually beneficial model of rotating 12 hours shifts is proposed. The model will offer employees a more optimal work/life balance through more consecutive days off.
  • Greater overall fatigue management of staff.

The District proposes to trial the 12-hour shifts over a 6-week rotating roster cycle of day and night shifts, effective from 25 November 2024.
