The HSU has received correspondence from Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District about two proposed changes to the vacant Second in Charge position within the Sterilising Services Department (SSD) at Wollongong Hospital.

The two proposed changes are as follows:

• A position regrade from a GAS grade 8 to a HSM grade 1
• Reduction of the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) GAS grade 8 position holds from 1.0 FTE to 0.84 FTE.

ISLHD claims that this change will provide flexibility in working hours and days as well as career development for staff.
