IRT Bargaining Update

On Thursday, your HSU bargaining representatives met with IRT management to present and discuss the log of claims endorsed by members. During this meeting, your representatives spoke candidly about the decline in IRT’s working conditions over the years, that so many of you have raised.

In response, IRT management stated that they are genuinely interested in considering all our claims, and they expressed a desire to collaborate with HSU members on finding solutions. This is an important development that comes after our collective efforts to ensure there was no rushed deal or cuts to conditions.

The Road Ahead

We’ve seen how an active, HSU member-led bargaining committee can shift the course of negotiations, and your input and support remain necessary as we continue to advocate for real change at IRT.

While your HSU bargaining committee is cautiously optimistic about this positive step, we are prepared to hold management accountable if their actions fail to match their words.

As it stands, our next negotiation meeting is planned for the first week of February where we will discuss IRT’s position on your claims.

Stay Involved

HSU members will be kept updated as negotiations progress.

Your HSU Bargaining Committee has received and reviewed all your input so far, and it has genuinely shaped the direction of this campaign. So if you have more questions or feedback, or if you’d like to get more involved, please contact HSU bargaining officer Ciaran Byrne at [E-Mail not displayed].

Together, let’s keep the momentum going and work towards a fair outcome for HSU members.
