HSU members have reported an email sent by the Director of Pharmacy Gosford to Pharmacy staff in CCLHD, indicating that Commissioner McDonald of the NSW Industrial Relations Commission has given the green light for implementation of the proposed restructure following a trial of the model. That is not what transpired in the Industrial Relations Commission on Monday 20 November.

The HSU made lengthy submissions on how the trial has failed using management’s own data, arguing that more staff are required to run an effective pharmacy adhering to all policies and guidelines.

Commissioner McDonald was not satisfied that the trial was a success and has directed the parties to file and serve case summary documents and supporting evidence in order for an appropriate recommendation to be made.

The HSU is to file and serve its case summary and supporting evidence by 18 December 2023.

Management is to file and serve its case summary and supporting evidence by 25 January 2024.

The HSU is to file its right of reply by 2 February 2024.

The matter is back before Commissioner McDonald on 8 February 2024.
