Dear Member,
On Thursday, PTO delegates from across the state met to discuss current issues within HealthShare Patient Transport Service and its future direction.
PTOs know how to fix the service they work in every day. At the meeting, delegates discussed strategies and proposals to do just that!
Three paramedic delegates also provided valuable insights, sharing their experiences from the Professional Recognition campaign, which was a great learning resource for all future Ambulance Division actions.
The following reforms were discussed:
- Increased training and education
- Broadening the scope of PTOs
- Diversifying roles and creating new levels within PTS
- Rosters
- Potential collaboration with NSW Ambulance and other areas of NSW Health
- PTS’s role in paramedics’ flexible work arrangements and retirement pathways
- And more
All the above strategies are crucial in the fight for better pay and conditions for PTOs, increasing the robustness of the PTS system and providing the best and most efficient healthcare for NSW residents.
Now it’s time for all members to have their say on the future of PTS, fill out this survey as soon as possible.
