HSU members have loudly told HealthShare “hands off our café” at John Hunter Hospital - and next week is the time to show them, in person!

John Hunter’s HSU sub-branch has endorsed a rally next Thursday, demanding HealthShare reverse the decision to close four hospital retail outlets, including the Cosy Kooka café.

Make sure you are at this important rally:

• When? Thursday, 5 September at 12:30 – 1pm.
• Where? Outside the Royal Newcastle Centre on the grassed area
• Why? HealthShare must understand how many workers and the community members will be impacted.
• Who? Health workers and the community should come out in force!

Health workers should not priced out of buying a coffee or lunch in their workplace!

HealthShare made this snap decision with no community consultation. More than 4000 health workers, community members, and patients have signed a petition calling on the company to reverse this unfair decision.

HealthShare executives met with workers directly employed in the café, after HSU members called on management to meet with them, but it’s important HealthShare hears from everyone.
