Important COVID update: Disability Services Hunter Region
-
Published August 18, 2021
This afternoon Hunter New England Local Health District have advised:
- 9 Disability Workers in the Hunter have tested positive for COVID-19;
- That the confirmed cases are safely isolating off-site; and
- HNELHD is working closely with care providers Connectability, Lifestyle Solutions, Solid Holistic Care, PHM Health, Samaritans, Ability Options and New Horizons to identify any residents and staff who could have been exposed to the infectious workers.
Our thoughts are with those workers and their families, their colleagues and clients. We hope that they are all safe and remain so.
Given the nature of the sector, regardless of whether you work with one of the named providers or not, the entire sector is on alert. It is more important than ever to remain vigilant, to follow all COVID safe work practices, to follow all COVID health orders, to get tested, and get vaccinated.
Vaccinations: The Belmont Vaccination Hub at 393 Pacific Hwy, Belmont, is providing priority vaccinations for any disability workers this week. You don’t need an appointment, just proof of your work status, your ID and Medicare card.
Your Union is here for you: The HSU hopes that you and everyone in your workplace is ok. If you need any support, have any questions or concerns please contact the HSU on 1300 478 679 or [E-Mail not displayed].
