After relentless advocacy from HSU members in the Security Department at St George Hospital, management have now scrapped the local Specialing Policy that had directed security officers to conduct clinical specialing in clear breach of the Ministry of Health’s Protecting People and Property policy.

The General Manager of St George Hospital has sent a letter to acknowledge the policy has now been rescinded.

Additionally, St George Hospital have committed to reviewing the hospital’s compliance with the Mental Health Act.
