As health workers, you’re on the front line when it comes to defending our community against COVID-19. We know it’s been incredibly hard at times. That’s why your Union is here to support you.

When it comes time to take your breaks, you should be able to rely on a comfortable space, not in the middle of thoroughfares or corridors.

Members recently contacted the Union to advise they were not being allowed access to the Staff Cafeteria on Level 4 Jacaranda, and instead had to sit on the hard floor of corridors. Following these reports, your representatives immediately raised the issue with hospital management.

The HSU pressed the issue through ongoing correspondence and meetings with management. We can now happily inform members that management has agreed to demands and the open area is once again available to members for their well-deserved breaks.
