HSU Win! Members at St Vincent's Private and Mater Hospitals to recoup unpaid wages

In a significant win for HSU members, your union representatives have received communication from St Vincent’s Private Hospital management regarding a significant underpayment of wages at both St Vincent’s Private and Mater Hospitals.
For some time, your Union and delegates have been raising concerns related to the underpayment of annual leave loading.
St Vincent’s management have now reviewed our concerns and have found that they have not been paying members the required annual leave loading – resulting in staff only receiving 11.5% leave loading, instead of the required 17.5% at both St Vincent’s and Mater Hospitals since 2015.
The HSU will continue discussions with St Vincent’s management and will ensure HSU members receive full back pay for the underpayment of wages. Members should start receiving letters from your employer this week.
This is a fantastic result for HSU members, and it couldn’t have happened without sustained vigilance and pressure from members and delegates. Congratulations to those members who have taken a stand to ensure your entitlements are maintained.
