The HSU has been actively lobbying NSW Health agencies to extend the COVID Special Leave provisions to HSU members living in QLD who cannot work due to the QLD Government’s current border directives. We have now received confirmation from HealthShare that it will continue payment of the Special Leave to workers beyond the previous 20-day limit while the border directives remain in place. 

We have also asked Northern NSW LHD to extend the same provisions to its workers. Unfortunately, the LHD is yet to advise us of its decision. We will notify members as soon as we receive a response.

The HSU will continue to lobby the QLD Government to amend the border directive to allow all HSU members living in QLD to return to work in NSW.
