HSU WIN! Government announces free parking at regional health facilities

The HSU has long campaigned for accessible parking for all health workers, patients and visitors.

No one should have to pay to park at their place of work.

During the COVID lockdown, HSU members successfully lobbied the NSW Government to remove parking fees for health workers who were performing such a vital service. When parking fees returned, members vowed to continue the campaign.

Today, HSU members are celebrating a significant victory as the NSW Health Minister Ryan Park announced that free parking will be extended to regional health facilities including Tweed, Coffs Harbour, Lismore, Maitland, Belmont and Shoalhaven Hospitals.

We have more to do. HSU members won’t stop until we’ve removed extortionate parking fees for all health workers. This announcement shows that the pressure put on by HSU members is having an effect.

When we raise our voices together, there’s nothing we can’t do!
